1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Shag Class LLC ("Shag Class," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use shagclass.com and our subscription video service (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

2. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored securely and hashed by our authentication provider, Supabase — we never see or store your plaintext password).

Sign in with Google. If you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture with us, as permitted by your Google account settings. We use this information only to create and maintain your Shag Class account and to sign you in. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we share it only with our authentication provider, Supabase, as described in §4. You can remove Shag Class's access at any time from your Google Account's third-party connections settings; to delete your Shag Class account itself, see §8.

Payment information. When you subscribe, our payment processor, Stripe, collects your payment card details directly. Shag Class does not receive or store your full card number. We do receive limited billing metadata from Stripe, such as your subscription status, plan, and renewal date, in order to manage your access to the Service.

Usage information. We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how visitors use the Service. This analytics tool is cookieless — it does not use cookies or track you individually across sites, and does not require a cookie-consent banner. We collect aggregate, anonymized events such as page views, which free lesson was played, when checkout was started, and which plan was selected, solely to understand how the Service is used.

Communications. If you contact us at support@shagclass.com, we retain that correspondence to respond to you and improve our support.

We do not knowingly collect any special category of information (such as health information) beyond what you voluntarily share with us in support correspondence.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and maintain your account and provide access to the Service;
• Process payments and manage your subscription (via Stripe);
• Send transactional emails: welcome messages, purchase/renewal confirmations, payment-failure notices, cancellation confirmations, and password resets (via Resend);
• Understand aggregate usage patterns to improve the Service;
• Respond to your support requests;
• Comply with legal obligations (such as tax reporting via Stripe Tax).

We do not send marketing or promotional email campaigns, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. How We Share Information

We share information only as necessary to operate the Service, with the following service providers ("subprocessors"), each of whom is contractually bound to protect your information:

We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Shag Class, our users, or the public.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Cookies

Because our analytics provider (Vercel Web Analytics) is cookieless, the Service does not use tracking cookies for analytics purposes. Our authentication provider (Supabase) may set a strictly necessary session cookie or token to keep you signed in — this is required for the Service to function and is not used for tracking or advertising.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, we retain your account information in case you wish to resubscribe, unless you request deletion (see §8). Billing records are retained as required for tax and accounting purposes.

7. Data Security

We rely on industry-standard security practices from our infrastructure providers (Supabase, Stripe, Cloudflare) — including encryption in transit — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

The Service is intended for users located in the United States. Regardless of which state you live in, we extend the following rights to all U.S. users as a matter of company policy:

• Access — you may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• Correction — you may request that we correct inaccurate information;
• Deletion — you may request that we delete your account and associated personal information;
• Opt-out — because we do not sell personal information and do not send marketing emails, there is nothing to opt out of in that respect; you may still opt out of any non-essential communications we introduce in the future;
• Non-discrimination — we will not deny you the Service, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of service because you exercised any of these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@shagclass.com. We will verify your identity (using your account email) before acting on the request, and will respond within 45 days.

Residents of states with their own comprehensive privacy laws (such as California's CCPA/CPRA and similar laws in Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and elsewhere) have these rights under those statutes as well; we have chosen to offer the same rights to all U.S. users rather than limit them by state.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Account holders must be at least 18 years old per our Terms of Service.

10. International Users

The Service is intended for users in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our service providers operate.

11. Third-Party Links

The Service may link to third-party websites (such as our social media profiles or event ticketing pages). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service before the changes take effect.
